Her favorite things in life are her husband, children and family, having lots of animals (especially Newfoundland dogs, cats, draft horses and draft mules, and Scottish Highland cows), traveling, gardening, and endlessly fixing up their home with old doors and windows. Traveling and love of Newfs are in fact how she wrote her first book Seaman's Journal. While their kids were growing up, the family drove extensively throughout the regions of the Lewis and Clark Trail.
If she's not painting, she's undoubtedly reading, and her greatest interest is Russian art, architecture, and literature. Besides that, she loves walking, listening to soundtracks, going to movies (her oldest son William is a cinematographer: www.WillEubank.com), talking about books and running with her middle son Carlyle, admiring her youngest son Winchester's artwork of castles, knights, dragons, and mountains, and visiting her daughter Rosanna, who is a librarian, and her husband and their two sons in their home—a cozy 1880's New England schoolhouse they are fixing up. |

I loved doing this book, not only because Rosanna wrote it and it was such a great story, but I put a brown Newfie on nearly every page! The parrot Gypsy in it was Rosanna’s bird when she was little, The Newfie Magnolia was actually the name of one of our horses, and the Birmese cat Gardenia was the name of a Siamese cat my family had when I was growing up. Looking at all the amazing color Rosanna has used in her home and seeing her beautiful garden, it’s clear why she wrote a book on color and flowers. |
